A Flip-Style Camera That Shoots Video and Still Images

A Digital Camera

If you're going to be taking pictures to accompany your stories, you're going to need a digital camera. And if you want to shoot video that can be uploaded to a website you'll need a camera that can also shoot video (most point-and-shoot digital cameras do this.)

You could buy an inexpensive flip-style video camera for shooting video. You'll probably get better-quality videos this way but these cameras generally don't take very high quality still images.

Cost: $120 to $300 for a digital camera, around $100 for a flip video camera
